Like vapor in the wind, Jacksonville opens new vapor shop
(KETK) - Jacksonville Tx — On Labor Day, Voltage Vapor Shop, opened its doors in Palestine, and within a few short months it spawned another location down in Jacksonville.
It's a welcome addition for Cameron Self from Recklaw, who says cigarettes had been a way of life for years, a habit he he says, he just couldn't live with anymore.
"It just got to the point where I mean I couldn't breather I was coughing all the time and then it got to the point where I didn't enjoy smoking anymore," said Self.
So for the last four months, he has been using vapor, having to drive to Tyler, until Voltage vapor Shop opened up in Jacksonville in mid December.
"I save a lot of money I only have to spend probably around 60 to 70 dollars a month compared to 200 to you know 300 dollars a month on cigarettes themselves," said Self
Owner Chase Calloway says he sees people like Self everyday, people who are committed to quitting cigarettes, but have had trouble before using vapor.
"We have people come in and say I've quit 15 times smoking so but a lot of our customers, I want to say it's about 80% of our customers that come in and they try the vapor out. If you want it to work for you, you can make it work," said Calloway.
No minor can buy a tobacco product, but according to Calloway, if you're under 18 you can't buy anything from his shop.
He says this is an option for current smokers looking for an alternative, not for people looking to start smoking.
