A church in Lindale unveiled a new monument Sunday to remind people of the fundamentals of faith. The pastor at Assembly of God in Lindale had a dream to build a monument of the 10 Commandments to display in front of his church, he said if they are being taken out of classrooms and courtrooms, it is the duty of the church to display the foundation of Christianity.

With so much going on in todays society, Lindale Assembly of God hopes they can bring a little faith back into the world with their new monument.

"The church needs to stand up and display that we still believe that God's got an order for his people to live by," said Senior Pastor of Lindale AG, Paul Ransberger.

The 10 Commandments unveiling ceremony began with a list of dignitaries who each took on one commandment to speak about. From Sheriff of Smith County Larry Smith to Constable Kenneth Bibby, the ceremony was full of East Texans who believe this world needs more good, more acknowledgement of these basic principles.

"We're in the day and hour where I believe where we need to praise Jesus and all his love and as our savior to forgive sin and bring us close to God," Pastor Ransberger said.

While this has been more than a dream come true for Pastor Ransberger, those in attendance say it was a dream come true for all of East Texas.

So proud of Lindale Assembly of God!! Beautiful sign!!

Where else would anyone assume the 10 Commandments would be but in front of a church? Because it is quite evident that East Texas would prefer everyone belong to the neighborhood Baptist church, one wonders if the underlying goal is to either convert all others, whether associated with a Jewish temple or Muslim mosque or non-believers, or to give all others an outcast label. Christians sometimes have difficulty remembering that God created US ALL in His image.
