Longview ISD is one of the most recent government bodies to receive the Texas Comptroller’s highest honor for financial transparency.

The school district, along with Hallsville ISD, New Diana ISD, Hughes Springs ISD, Troup ISD and Tyler ISD, has been named to the Texas Comptroller’s Platinum Leadership Circle, according to a list on the state agency’s website.

“Everything you’d want to know about our finances is available within two clicks of our home page,” Lynn Marshall, Longview ISD’s assistant superintendent of business, finance and facilities, said in a statement. “And it’s spelled out in a way that you don’t have to be an accountant to understand it.”

The designation is the comptroller’s newest and highest honor for financial transparency. The new distinction required governmental entities “go above and beyond providing financial transparency. It is added to the comptroller’s previous Bronze, Silver and Gold distinctions.
