A commercial pitch-woman, a radio star, and a church organizer, and Sunday, Esther Crider will turn one-hundred years old.

At Atria Willow Park in Tyler, one-hundred years of family and friends gathered to give miss crider, what she called, "An old fashioned party, for an old-fashioned person."

But it's what she taught those family and friends through the years that has meant the most to them.

Esther Crider has had three children, two step children, and 21 grand kids, great grand kids, and great-great grand kids.

But she has also gone through hardships, losing friends along the way, and surviving three husbands.

And she says all those experiences have made her, who she is today.

And it's that attitude that brought so many people to her birthday party Saturday afternoon.

The celebration focused around music, as the orchestra played, and members of her family shared songs, and memories, and it's her spirit, her love for life, and love for others that continues to inspire everyone who knows her.

Miss Esther was once a traveling T.V. and radio performer, and a pitch woman for the cleaning detergent "All."

But with all of that success, family and friends KETK spoke to, continued to bring up her wisdom, how she would comfort them, and how she would always tell them 'to keep their chin up," when hard times would arise.

Words she has live by, for one-hundred years.
