East Texans will be enjoying food, fun, and of course fireworks all weekend, and there are plenty of shows going on for you and your family to go to. It all kicked off Thursday at the annual Blast Over Bullard. "Its going to be the best show in east texas," said Pam Frederick, Bullard Mayor.

Every year the City of Bullard hosts the free event. Frederick says anywhere from one hundred to one thousand people come to enjoy the holiday celebration. She said the family event is they city's way of pouring back into the community. "I'm hoping to see the pasture, the field where our people will be out, I'm hoping to see it so full of people that we can't get around well," said Frederick. She's hoping the entertainment and timing, will make this year's turnout better than ever. "As far as we know, we're the only show tonight and we have such a fantastic music line, we think that the turn out will be fabulous," said Frederick.

After the children's parade, local talent such as Sarah Campbell, The Purple Hulls, and Stevie Jo from NBC's The Voice will perform. Stevie Jo said it is an honor to perform for Bullard, "growing up in East Texas, you know, I have family in Bullard. To be involved in something that's so big for Bullard is really, really cool experience." He will be performing fan favorites, plus a new song he just recorded, but he says he's mostly looking forward to what comes after the concert. "Really looking forward to the fireworks. Because I really love fireworks and they only come around a few times a year," and encourages everyone to come out, "What more can I say? I mean theres going to be fireworks, music, food, family, its going to be a real fun time."
