Longview, TX — As the 11-year anniversary of 9-11 approaches, East Texans are planning a variety of events to mark the somber occasion.

From delivering baked goods to Longview firefighters to breaking ground on three new fire stations, numerous events will commemorate the time a little over a decade ago when the nation was attacked on native soil.

Longview’s Fire Department will have a Promotion of Officers beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The event is at the training facility on American Legion Boulevard near Teague Park.
