Tyler TX (KETK) — Santa is getting a little help making toys this year from one man in Tyler.
Winford Stone makes wooden toys out of his own little shop in his backyard.
Now, Winford's Wooden Toys has turned into Santa's Toy Shop.
We first met Winford a couple weeks ago.
He started building wooden toys for his grandson five years ago.
Now, he turned a hobby into a business.
"That's why I do it because its fun," said Winford.
"He doesn't use a pattern he just kind of creates. It's just amazing what he can do," said Winford's wife Sarah Stone.
But, this is the first year the retired handyman is doing something a little different for the holidays.
"We've always enjoyed Christmas and this is a little bonus," said Winford.
It was an idea him and his wife Sarah came up with and it's brought in some more curious onlookers.
"They want to know what all I can make and I say I can make anything you want," said Winford.
"Everytime he brings something new in, I just think well this is really neat how did you get this to look like this he just does it," said Sarah.
Along with his wooden trucks and heart shaped jewelry boxes, he also makes other Christmas toys.
"This is the first year I've made a sleigh so we will see how it goes," said Winford.
This year, Winford and Sarah are celebrating their 50 year wedding anniversary.
And Sarah never knew her husband had such a talent for toy making.
"He's always the one that comes running when something wrong, but I didn't realize that he had this kind of creativity," said Sarah.
Winford's toys range from $6-$175.
