GRAPEVINE - Four first places wins went to KETK-TV Saturday night at the annual Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Radio and Television Contest.

First place in Spot News Coverage went to the station's coverage of the Paynes Spring Tragedy where two deputies died in a shootout with a gunman in Henderson County.

KETK was also recognized for the Best Photojournalism in it's division. Congratulations go to the KETK photography staff including: Albert Belez, Chief Photographer; Michael Lowe, Chris Henderson, Jessica Winfrey, Zach Hoop, and Michael McGee.

The award for Best Feature story (light) went to Bob Brackeen and Chris Henderson for their story "Music City Texas." The story featured the musical meeting place by that name in Linden, Texas.

Sports Director Danny Elzner holds the honor of Best Sportscast for the second year.

In all, KETK was recognized eight times by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters. Other mentions include Continuing Coverage, Series, Television Special "The Right to Read," and Individual Spot Story.

KETK was recognized more times than any other station in it's division this year by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.
