CLARKSVILLE CITY---Bottled water companies make billions of bucks every year selling water that supposedly tastes better than tap water.
Well, that may be true for some people, but people living in one East Texas city say keep your bottles, I'll drink mine from the tap.
People in the city of Clarksville City are drinking the best water in Texas according to the American Waterworks Association.
All eight hundred and six people in Clarksville City reap the benefits of the city's two year-old water treatment center.
The water there is purified through reverse osmosis.
The city manager says that's how the water gets its pure taste, or lack of taste.
Just one reason Clarksville City's water is considered the best.
"The clarity of the water, they was looking to see if it smelled, what kind of smell it had, hopefully no smell, and of course the taste," says Billy Silvertooth, the City Manager.
"It's just awesome. It does have no odor, and like I say, no more bottled water," Shirley Simmons says.
Since Clarksville City won the award for "Best Water" in Texas, the city is representing Texas in the national water competition in Georgia this June.
