EAST TEXAS-- Some insects are losing their buzz in East Texas.

A new survey says more than one third of the nation's commercially managed hives are gone..

The survey included 327 operators who account for 19 percent of the country's approximately 2.44 million commercially managed bee hives.

Local bee keepers say something called "colony collapse disorder", a mysterious disease causing adult bees to abandon their hives, could be the cause.
