LONGVIEW - The council is considering a ten percent increase that towing companies can charge to haul heavy duty vehicles---that is with police orders.

If passed, Longview's maximum towing fees will go from 250 dollars an hour to 275 dollars an hour.

Assistant City Manager, Chuck Ewings said Marshall has the highest fee in East Texas which is 275 dollars an hour.

The owner of Duncan Services says when fees were set at 250 dollars years ago they were reasonable but with the change in the economy its time fees are raised.

Owner, Robbie Duncan said, ""We're asking the city of Longview that ten percent in eight years is not enough of a rate increase. We'd like to get closer to a 30 or 35 percent rate increase for heavy duty tows."
