SMITH COUNTY - Officials are investigating a murder in Smith County.

20-year-old Dex Bailey McLean was found dead by his parents at around 3:30 Saturday morning at their home on Harbor Way on Lake Palestine.

At this point, little information is being released.

But as of right now--- Sergeant Randy Meadows with the Smith County Sheriff's Department says they believe a possible burglary took place.

Sgt. Meadows tells us, McLean did have head injuries.

The family dog was also found dead.

Neighbors tell us, they're shocked.

John Vorburger says, "The neighborhood is real close knit. Everybody knows everybody. Fourth of July we had everybody over here, and we didn't see any weird activity."

Again, this murder remains under investigation.

Sgt. Meadows says there are no suspects at this time.
