The Summer Food Service Program kicked of national Hunger Awareness Day today at Cole park in Tyler.

The East Texas Food Bank provides free meals to kids when they are not in school and your kids can take the bus for free to get to the site nearest you.

The program is open to any kid in need. Children 18 years or younger can participate in the program and there's no requirement to sign up or register for the program you just need to show up at the meal time. Some sites serve breakfast, some serve lunch and some serve, breakfast, lunch, supper and a snack.
