Icy conditions hit hard all over the state, and Longview was no exception. In one hour the city went from quiet, cold and dry to a winter wonderland.

With the possibility of wintry weather over the next 24 hours, schools in East Texas may be delaying or canceling classes.
Businesses and other organizations may also have delayed openings or cancelations.
On Friday, February 13, 2015, a home owner in the 2000 block of Highway 79, west of Jacksonville, reported that his home had been broken into sometime between Wednesday, February 5, and Thursday, February 12.
Rusk County is being hit fairly hard by icy conditions, particularly north of Henderson.
US 259 toward Kilgore has become problematic and driverse are advised to stay off this road if they don’t absolutely need to travel.
Crews continue to treat roadways throughout the area as sleet falls and ice blankets many roadways in portions of the Tyler District. Motorists are advised to use caution on I-20 which now has ice from Van Zandt County to Gregg County.
The Texas Department of Transportation is preparing for winter weather conditions. They said they are monitoring the roadways and prepping for possible icy roads. TxDOT recommended staying off the roads during icy conditions.
