Making the Interstate 20 corridor and north and west neighborhoods as hot as fast-growing Northeast Longview is among the goals of a coalition heading to a shopping center industry conference this week.
Authorities with the Carlisle Independent School District made the decision to hold classes on Memorial Day so the supporters of their baseball team can attend the playoffs in Austin, should the team continue to qualify.

According to Gregg County Sheriff's office the trial for Jesse Smith, 33, and Cassandra Stone, 32, at 9:00 a.m. this morning was held for a later time.
Court will meet again on Tuesday morning.

The victim of the drowning in Harrison County has been identified.
Wildrick Lamon Jenkins, 21, of Marshall was in the capsized canoe earlier this morning.
The family has been notified.
In efforts to push for better funding to support state parks, a representative from the Keep Texas Parks Open movement spoke to the Marshall Lions Club recently about the initiative.
