Longview Animal Control officers rescued a three-foot alligator from inside the city of Longview on Monday.

Gregg County Game Warden Todd Long said the alligator was found at a residence near Enterprise Street and is now in the custody of animal control officer Chris Kemper.

“Longview Animal Control and myself received some information that there was an alligator at a private residence so we followed up on that,” Long said. “We found the alligator and are trying to track down the owner.”

The owner of the alligator could be hit with multiple citations and up to $500 in fines, according to Long.
