Longview area 2011 homes sales on upward trend
Longview, TX — Home sales in the first half of 2011 for the Longview and East Texas area lagged behind rates from the first half of 2010, but the market appears to be rebounding, according to sales numbers and local Realtors.
For 2011 as a whole, the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University estimated agents in the Longview-Marshall Multiple Listing Service area were expected to close on the sale of 1,972 homes. That figure is based on actual sales through November with an estimated closing figure for December based on the number of sales pending.
That figure is down about 6 percent from the 2,079 homes sold in the Longview-Marshall MSA in 2010, according to the center. That represents a drop of about 6 percent, or 107 fewer homes sold in 2011.
