Business is ringing loud and clear for at least one Longview-based business where phone calls translate into dollars.
In coming weeks, Longview’s Convergys call center hopes to add 100 workers to its staff, according to Brad Wallace, senior manager-employee relations. That will increase the company’s Longview workforce by about a third.
Wallace said the 200 associates working out of the Northloop Plaza location at Loop 281 and Judson Road handle hundreds of calls on a daily basis for major companies the firm has contracts with.
“Convergys provides customer management solutions to major brands,” Wallace said. “When someone calls in to get information on a bill, order a product or service, we’re there to help them.”
And, while the location is busy, he said it should be even busier in coming weeks as a recently inked contract with a national client has provided the opportunity for another 100 jobs.
“We’re hiring now. We have a client who wants to grow the site, and we have a lot of capacity,” Wallace said this past week. The positions come with five weeks of paid full-time training.
Wallace said the jobs start at $10 per hour and have performance incentives that can add as much as $3 an hour to the base pay.
