Holiday revelers won’t be limited to nighttime activities at this year’s Christmas at the Courthouse.

The event will be held one weekend — Dec. 6 and 7 — instead of two, said Elaine Reynolds, vice president of downtown development with the Longview Chamber of Commerce.

Also, activities on Dec. 7 will begin earlier in the day — at 1 p.m. — and last until 8:30 p.m.

Reynolds said the annual snow hill again will be featured at the Longview event and will move to Kilgore on Dec. 13 and 14.

“Over the last couple of years, people have been asking about why it has to be just Saturday night,” she said. “I think it is going to be a nice factor having it during the day, especially with the younger kids and on the real cold nights. Sometimes our Christmas at the Courthouse activities are really, really cold.”
