Longview council OKs animal shelter proposals
Longview — Recommendations from the city’s Animal Shelter Task Force — to build a new facility run by a nonprofit group governed by a board including a member from each governing body that participates — were unanimously accepted Thursday by the City Council.
With the vote, city staff was directed to begin actively seeking plans for the shelter. It is the furthest official step Longview has taken to address longstanding concerns about animal overpopulation.
