Longview, Gregg County officials study natural gas as fuel for vehicles

MANSFIELD, La. — Affordable, abundant and American — those are the buzz words of the natural gas industry promoting increased use of natural gas.
Jeffrey F. Holliday, manager of public affairs for Chesapeake Energy’s Shreveport office, said this past week that while the up-front cost of converting standard gasoline or diesel powered vehicles to compressed natural gas is still high, the long range benefits are many.
Longview and Gregg County officials are among those across the nation looking at ways to save money, improve the economy and clean up the environment, Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt said.
