The City of Longview will host a Career Fair from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, 100 Grand Blvd. The event will showcase careers available with the City of Longview from police officers to firefighters to public works and more. City departments will have information about current job openings as well as information about all other positions within City government. In addition, vehicles and equipment will be on display.

According to Human Resources Director Karri Hyko, “We offer this career fair as a way for people to learn more about the careers available in public service. We will have information about current job openings, but we will also have information about all of our careers. So, this is great for the current job seeker, but also for students that might be interested in learning what it takes to become a firefighter, police officer, civil engineer, health inspector, or librarian.”

The event is geared towards current job seekers as well as students considering future employment. In addition to equipment displays, employees from each department will be on hand to discuss how they serve the City of Longview in their job. This is the third year for the event.

The event is open to the public. For more information, please contact the Human Resources Department at 903-237-1220 or visit LongviewTexas.gov.
