A Longview Independent School District administrator has been announced as the lone finalist for a Southeast Texas superintendency.

Longview ISD Director of Federal Programs Michael King, 45, confirmed that he was chosen late Sunday night to be the new superintendent at Bridge City Independent School District in Orange County. King has previously worked at West Rusk County, Kirbyville and Woden school districts.

"It was unanimous," Mark Anderson, BCISD school board president told the Southeast Texas Record. "We interview many folks and we had the best pool of candidates that the region had to offer at this time. (King) stood out in his leadership abilities and he looks like the best fit for our school district and where we're at right now. He's just a great fit."
