Longview, TX — The Texas Association of School Boards’ Risk Management Fund board of trustees has reappointed Ted Beard to the board for a three-year term.
Beard, who is Longview ISD’s board president, was first elected in 1998. He was first appointed to TASB’s Risk Management Fund board in November 2007.
A claims representative for the Social Security Administration and a retired sergeant major in the U.S. Army, Beard served in both Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom Operations. He also has served as a delegate representing Longview ISD for four years at the TASB Delegate Assembly. He and his wife, Rosalind, are the parents of three sons and two daughters.
The TASB Risk Management Fund is the oldest and largest risk sharing pool serving Texas school districts and other members of TASB. The Fund provides workers’ compensation, property, liability, auto and unemployment compensation coverage to more than 1,000 members. The Fund’s “Five S difference”—focus on Savings, Stability, Strength, Service and Stability for its members has been the foundation of its success for more than 35 years.
