Longview ISD official says local control at heart of CSCOPE debate
Longview — Northeast Texas educators watching Saturday night’s debate over a curriculum tool called CSCOPE said they felt well represented.
About 250 people attended the debate between state Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, and State Board of Education member Thomas Ratliff at the University of Texas at Tyler’s Ornelas Activity Hall.
The event was streamed live online, where many more, such as Longview ISD Assistant Superintendent Jody Clements, watched from home.
