With a nearly 300-student increase, Longview ISD significantly improved its districtwide attendance rate, graduation rate and dual enrollment/advanced course completion while lowering its dropout rate and reducing its staff during the 2012-13 school year, according to a new report released Thursday by the Texas Education Agency.

Other Longview school districts remained flat on most of the same measures.

The Texas Academic Performance Report released Thursday pull together information for each school district in the state based on a variety of performance indicators, including results of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, attendance rates, dropout rates, graduation rates, district enrollment, staffing, SAT and ACT results, dual credit enrollment, and graduates enrolled in Texas institutions of higher education. The report breaks down the information by ethnicity, gender and other categories.
