Longview ISD Superintendent James Wilcox will retire again by January 2015, district officials said Tuesday.

Wilcox, who has led the about 8,500-student district since 2007, will spend his final months aiding his replacement in transitioning into the district, officials said.

District spokesman Adam Holland said Wilcox was not available for comment Tuesday.
