The Longview mural, located at the new Amberwood Place apartments, is finally complete.

The project began getting organized back in October.

The mural represents Longview's past, present, and future, with iconic images of the area, including portraits of Matthew McConaughey, Neal McCoy, and former Longview mayor Earl Roberts.

Along with professional artists, ten area students, who won a local contest, got the chance to work on the project.

It was a process which had its ups and downs, but in the end, left everyone proud of a job well done.

"We've worked in mud, we've worked in wind, we've worked in cold, it was really grueling, but it turned out really well.  Working with young people was a great idea, I enjoyed that," said local artist Johnny Edwards.

The wall is 120 feet long and seven feet tall, and according to those involved with the project, they hope people will stop by and enjoy the art, and possibly be inspired to make their own work of art.
