Longview Museum of Fine Arts honors local young artists
Area high school students will be honored Saturday during a reception and awards ceremony at the Longview Museum of Fine Arts.
Students throughout the region were invited to submit their works of art to the museum’s 52nd Student Invitational, an annual art competition for high school students. The museum received about 180 entries from students at 10 area high schools.
The invitational usually receives more entries, but this year’s competition conflicted with UIL and other competitions, said Bruce Maudlin, education director at the museum.
