Longview nonprofit organizations have full list of ongoing projects
Longview — With a half dozen ongoing capital campaigns throughout the city and a fundraiser, or two, nearly every weekend through February and March, Longview residents have a surplus of organizations to which they could give.
Niki Groce, who is known for the elaborate themes of her tables at the Habitat for Humanity’s “Raising the Roof” fundraiser, said she and her husband, Darren, select which events to attend based on the causes they support.
“Isn’t it great that we live in a town that offers so much culture, and so many choices and so many wonderful events? That’s a wonderful problem to have that we live in a place where every weekend practically we can go do something wonderful and at the same time give to our community,” Groce said. “Not every town can boast about that.”
In addition to regular fundraising events for Longview’s array of nonprofit organizations, at least six ongoing capital campaigns totaling more than $35 million are seeking private donations.
