Longview Police will host a Women's Safety Awareness Seminar on January 10th from 6:30-9 p.m.

The training will be held in the Roy Stone training room located at the Longview Police Department, 302 W. Cotton Street.

The purpose of this program is to teach women how to "learn to think safe". The seminar covers types of crimes that affect women and teaches them to be alert and aware of their surroundings.

During the class, attendees will discuss various types of crimes including theft, sexual assault, family violence, and identity theft.

Attendees will also receive statistical information, strategies for various situations, and will discuss topics related to self defense.

This class is open to any interested woman at least 18 years of age.

Seating is limited.
