LONGVIEW - Thursday evening, Longview Officers were dispatched to 211 Davis Street for a report that an assault had just occurred.

Officers and Longview Fire Department/EMS arrived and found that 59-year-old Gary Austin had been assaulted with a wooden board inside his residence by a person he knew as “DJ”. Austin was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries by paramedics.

Officers located “DJ” and identified him as Deandre Okokhere. Okokhere was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and booked into the Gregg County Jail.
