Longview project to light up downtown parking area
Longview — The Longview City Council will spend more than $100,000 to help visitors downtown feel safer in city parking lots on Cotton Street.
Work is underway — and expected to be finished around July — on installation of 12 lights for city parking lots at the intersection of High and Cotton streets and Cotton and Fredonia streets.
The work is funded by a 2007 bond election that allotted $10.2 million for improvements to Silver Falls Road, Reel Road, Fredonia Street and two downtown parking lots plus rights-of-way purchases for extension of George Richey Road and Bill Owens Parkway.
