Longview restaurateurs with NY ties reflect on 9/11

Immigrants Gio and Sabrina Silehu said their recollections of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, remain vivid 11 years later.

As the owners of Uncle Joe’s Pizza and Pasta, 411 N. Spur 63, they have roots in Albania and Kosovo and an extended family and friends in the New Jersey and New York City area. The couple said memories of watching commercial jets hijacked by terrorists fly into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that day 11 years ago hit them hard.
