Longview task force’s I-20 corridor tour spurs renewal ideas
Longview — As Interstate 20 Task Force members, city staff and elected officials drove and walked the corridor Wednesday, ideas for the area emerged at a rapid-fire pace.
The group continued discussion of an “overlay district” and the best way to address dilapidated buildings, but also pitched new ideas, including constructing entryway arches at the fork of Mobberly Avenue and High Street and the development of bicycle lanes.
“It’s a lot easier to do it when you are walking it than when you are diving by at 35 miles per hour,” said task force member Kurt Kogler, who along with a few other members had requested the tour.
