A Longview teen could face charges for failing to stop after a fatal hit-and-run crash.

Longview police spokeswoman Kristie Brian said 57-year-old Harold Grady was struck by 19-year-old Ashley Lambert at about 7:45 p.m. Monday when he stepped into the roadway on Loop 281 in Longview.

Brian said Lambert went to the police station Monday night, because when she got home she realized that she had hit something.

The case is being turned over to the Gregg County District Attorney's Office to determine whether charges will be filed against Lambert. No charges have been filed at this time.

Grady, of Farmersville, was pronounced dead at Longview Regional Hospital at about 8:30 p.m. Monday by Justice of the Peace B.H. Jameson.

I think you should begin to understand something before you go and tell someone to "get their facts straight". Yes she turned herself in, yes she told the police what happend and im sure she was scared, but none of those things helped to save a life and none of those things happened in time enough to possibly change what has happened. The fact is her "mistake" of hitting him put his life in jeopardy, and her second "mistake" of not finding help like a responsible person cost him his life. Fact

Dude, are you freaking serious!? I know this girl personally and yeah, it sucks that she hit him and didn't realize it until later but she did turn herself in because she knew what she did. Yes, it sucks that he died but dude, people die and life goes on. It's an unfortunate situation that a 19 year old girl has to deal with. It's not like she purposefully ran him over. Give her a little credit.

She broke the law. She will answer for it. Nothing you say will change that. There is a lot that will come out later.

Brapp23, you make it sound worse then what it realy is bro. Sure, Ashley should have stopeed, but she called the cops and let them know? She was scared, and you can not honestly say that you wouldnt be scared to. You need to get your facts straight. Ashley Lambert is a very intelligent young woman, who makes mistakes like everybody else. She called herself in. She told the police what happened. I'm sorry for your loss, I truely am. But stop critcizing her. Thank you. This is all.

Harold Grady was my father-in-law. He leaves behind a wife, 3 children and 6 beautiful grandchildren. This was a careless and senseless act of immaturity. Who leaves a man by the side of the road to die? If she had stopped this would be a little easier to deal with for the family but Ashley left the scene. Harold Grady was a good man and he and his family deserved better. Ashley should be ashamed of herself.
