Longview woman competes in 100-mile endurance race
Longview — A journey of 100 miles begins by putting one foot in front of the other — and ends 28 hours, seven minutes, three pairs of shoes, one can of bear repellant and a moose sighting later.
It did, at least, for Longview businesswoman Carmela Davis, who earned first place in her age class on Oct. 5 in the 2013 Yellowstone-Teton 100-Mile Endurance Race.
“That first going over the Continental Divide — that was rough,” Davis said, her 2011 Boston Marathon ribbon nearby in her High Street office.
