TYLER - An in depth look inside the Texas Ranger's affidavit report on why former Smith County deputy Terry Lindsey was fired and placed under arrest.
Terry Lindsey faces federal charges.
An investigation is being conducted by the Texas Rangers and the FBI in this case.
Lindsey is accused of acting under color of the law while placing Joshua Barnes under arrest on December 27, 2009 at Lindsey's house party after Barnes allegedly stabbed James Brandon Lee to death.
According to the Attorney General's Office charges of this nature could result in an up to ten years in prison sentence and a $250,000 fine.
Lindsey is accused of Aggrivated Assault with a deadly weapon.

Derek is asking me out on a date! I'm (almost) honored.
In the mean time, Terry Lindsey is innocent until proven guilty. So is Barnes. Hopefully some of these bleeding hearts that have such strong principals will start up websites to also raise funds for Barnes and the surviving family of Lee.
Let's see if Derek will take some of his needle-pokin' money and make some donations....

Looks like "derek" is still trying to milk some free advertising for his bikers and rebelous-collage-students business from someone's death. Let's wish him succcess so he can afford the therapy he needs, as such a violet individual! (Praying for him now.....)

What a group of friends this 'lawman' has. I'm trying to remember the last time I threw a party and someone died. Hmmm.... looks like.... never. Not even on accident. I guess I do a better job at screening those who are my friends, and cutting them off after too much to drink, than others in East Texas do.

I cannot believe the crap spilling from the mouths of people against this Highly Honarable man who constantly put his life on the line for the people who now crudley critize him. FOR SHAME! All of you who think that Terry should be held to the same expectations of every other American. He's a Deputy! Who am I to say that hitting someone with a macine gun and then a rifle and then a rake and then a handgun and then throwing that man who is now handcuffed on the ground repeated and also threaten his life is excessive! I wasn't there. I can I judge a man for taken vengance on another when I obviously was not there and that all of Terry's friends backed him up 100% on his story.
Well except for the everyone else that stated Terry fought against a man smoking a cigarette and just took the beating. Serves him right not to defend himself! I mean who in their right mind would not fight against the hevily armed man who identified himself as an officer and told him he was under arrest. I know I would have fought him. It's unamerican to submit to a outnumbered more armed opponet. What ever happened to fighting back until ya died!
Bottom line I say Terry is completely innocent of any and all crimes he is accused of since we do live in Communist Russia. Oh, I mean Germany in 1936. Uh, how about China 1970's. No, wait I'll get it, since he live in country ruled by any of the following people: Omar al-Bashir in Sudan, Kim Jong-il in North Korea or Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe.
Darn, I guess perhaps what he did was illegal. Go figure?
Now he will have to answer to the people he formerly worked for. What a shame!
You are right Clark. all of you smart a** cops that think you are above the law or think that badge and gun gives you a license to do what ever you want and give the good cops a bad name, pay attention.
He's getting what he had coming to him. He throws a drunken bash at his place and can't handle the responsibility, this is what happens. A bunch of drunks, all of them.
If we can assume Barnes is guilty, we can assume this dude is guilty, too! It wasn't murder, it was a drunken brawl!!!!

Noah, If you would like to help Terry, he has a website www.supportterrylindsey.com. He is being mistreated!! This was not a drunken brawl by the way. There were only 10 ppl there which included husbands, wives, and their children. Many were not even drinking. Thank you for your support!!
Really? Your website is as bad of a liar as Terry Lindsey when forgot that he beat the suspect with an array of weapons that makes the Tailiban jealous of his stock pile. You state he is a highly decorated deputy, yet he just got fired. So the deputy part is not so true now. Highly decorated? Just what honor has he gained other thatn being part of the search team? I find it hilarious that a sub-par jailer made his way to patrol by the grace of Lt. Lile's hand and would have been fire or jailed along with Britain Marlow if Lile had not died.
If I was Charles Todd, Hudnall, or Langston (ones implemented in the investigation with Low-risk jailers) I would be very upset that Marlow and Lindsey escaped the same fate only to have Lindsey throw it away. If this is what Smith County considers "highly decorated" then perhaps a change of the management is needed.
Oh, and to anyone who is Terry's friend and wants me to "meet" you at your shop and fight: Is that really the way a person defends someone they say is NOT violent. It would be like me defending Hitler by attacking more Jews. But I'll tell you what. If you are tired of my shining light on the county's and Lindsey's past then stop posting. I will stop all the stuff about Terry and his...um... drunken party at his apartment in Tyler where he kissed several other jailer all the while his fiance was passed out drunk in the bedroom...or how about...when Terry went to the trailer park off FM 14, kicked in the front door and chased after someone who was not even wanted AND then cussed the guys girlfriend out because she wanted his name..how about someting more recent about smith county...Deputy Skinner terminated after repeatedly telling the criminals about the investigations being done on them and SKINNER did it several times all the while the Sheriff Admin knew about it and just got fired WITHOUT charges. Actually that last one might just help pull the heat of Terry...well until the prison rape begins
What would anyone in their right mind expect him to do.If this happened to you, how would you react. The man saw his best friend MURDERED before his very eyes. Com on, give the deputy a break!!! The Texas Rangers and for sure the FBI is waaaaaay off base on this one. The Barns family is trying to shift blame away from their boy. If this goes to a jury trial, I hope I am on the jury.There has been a fund set up for Deputy Lindsey at Austin Bank. I will be there first thing Monday
