Losing their religion?

TYLER-Most young adults today don't pray, don't worship and don't read the Bible, according to a new survey just out by a Christian research firm. So when and why did this trend begin?
So why is the younger generation now turning away from everything dealing with God? Well according to one local minister, there isn't a solid answer.
"Its not just the spiritual religious part of it, its everything right now," College minister at Green Acres Baptist, Ellen Winegeart, said. "Its very different compared to what it used to be, so they're having to find a new way."
But for author and atheist activist Barrett Brown, the answer is technology.
"Young people have access to information they wouldn't have had growing up in earlier times," Brown said.
"They can go on the Internet right now and see certain things that are in the Bible that just can't be explained and don't appear to be the work of a benevolent God."
A survey conducted in part by Lifeway Christian Resources, of 1,200 people ages 18 to 29 showed almost 75 percent said they were really more spiritual than religious. But of the ones that actually said they were a Christian, many said they weren't that committed to their faith.
The question that remains is can we turn this around?
Mrs. Winegeart told us absolutely, its just going to take a whole new approach.
"I don't know if they'll ever be coming to a church building, but I think your going to see groups of people in this world that do believe and they know who he is and they know his power and it can be amazing," Winegeart said.
But Mr. Brown believes as long as the Internet exists, the numbers of nonbelievers will continue to grow.

The Internet--Where religion goes to die.
May the best truth win. :)
This topic has been burning in my heart.(i'm 20) Our new generation knows about God, but don't believe. We all seem to focus on pleasure (relationships, style, entertainment). The television and media have 90% (in my opinion) of why this madness is happening. We've got to think outside of the 4 walls of "church" and grab this generations heart before it is too late! This life is short compared to eternity. Why do we not take the time to comtemplate the true meaning of life?? Before it's too late
The Bible itself holds the answer. Over and over again,Isreal when down would return to God. As things got better, they turned from God, sometimes full of there self righteousness. Until they colapsed again. America has been no different. It will only get worse the more we become more full of ourselves and give our pride and egos the credit for our successes.
How ironic that an article on how young people today aren't praying or going to church or reading the Bible would not captialize the word "Bible" in its first sentence.
Only one comment to make: A family that worships together, stays together especially when they start their own lives.
The article stated that "Young adults don't pray, worship nor read the Bible.
"Without faith it is impossible to please Him."
"Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord." Words for parents to impart to children.
I see more feet going to the mall on Lord's Day than to worship.
Materialism has won the day in America and sold the parents a bitter pill. We "reap what we sow."
It looks as if the younger people are finally rejecting the superstitious voodoo they have been brainwashed with from birth.
As Einstein said: "Religious zeal is inversely proportional to intelligence."
There is absolutely no evidence of the existence of any god.
