Tyler, Texas (KETK) — The SPCA of East Texas is hosting two clinics this week for pet owners. This Friday and Saturday the SPCA is hold a low cost Vaccination and Microchip Clinic. SPCA Officials told us its important to both vaccinate and microchip your pet.
Certain vaccinations are required by law and keeping your pet healthy and safe is important. The cost of vaccines can get high and the SPCA of East Texas is offering them at low cost. Whether you need several vaccines or just a rabies shot, the SPCA is prepared to help.
They will also be offering microchipping services for pet owners. The microchip is a quick procedure, less than two minutes. The chip is inserted in the back of the neck just like a vaccine. The owner's contact information is included on the chip. If the pet is ever lost, the chip can be scanned any where in the nation and the owner's information will pull up and they can be contacted. Microchips are painless for the pet and have helped many families reunite with their pets.
The events will take place Friday and Saturday and require no appointments. The Vaccination Clinic will be from 10 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon at the Snippet Clinic location and the Microchip Clinic will be at the SPCA Adoption Center from 9 in the morning til 1 in the afternoon. Also, adoptions take place on Saturdays. East Texans are encouraged to bring their pets and then possibly add another family member.
