Council approves first reading of request

Lufkin — The Lufkin Daily News is reporting; at their Tuesday meeting; the city council took another step toward construction of a new fire station.

City Manager Paul Parker said the new station will lower the city’s insurance category and will house an engine, a ladder truck, a medical unit and a light rescue unit.
