Residents asked to take heat advisories seriously

The Lufkin Daily News is reporting: local firefighters are reminding East Texans to keep their cool in this heat wave that can be down right deadly.

LFD Assistant Fire Marshal Steve McCool tells the Daily News: "The very young and elderly are usually the most susceptible to heat, so make it a point to check on loved ones, and if needed help them stay cool this summer.”

A big reminder: Slow Down!  Firefighters say during the heat of the day, avoid strenuous activity, wear lightweight attire and drink plenty of water.
