LUFKIN — Investigators need your help identifying a person of interest in an investigation involving the fraudulent use of a credit card that was stolen during a vehicle burglary.
On October 01, 2011, two friends parked a yellow Volkswagen on the shoulder of Ford Chapel Road while they attended a carnival. A few hours later, they returned to the vehicle and found that its driver’s side window had been shattered and the vehicle had been burglarized.
Missing from within the vehicle was a black, leather Coach brand purse and a wallet. The victim had attempted to hide the purse beneath a seat in the vehicle and thought she concealed it.
The victim immediately contacted her bank to cancel her credit card but was informed that a purchase had already occurred. The bank’s records showed that while the victim was at the carnival, the suspect(s) fraudulently used the victim’s card for a purchase of $71.12 at Chevron, located at 804 North Timberland Drive, in Lufkin.
Investigators reviewed security videos from the store and wish to identify and locate the male shown in the image at right.
