Lufkin, TX (KETK) — Lufkin Crimestoppers are looking for three thieves who took a YETI brand cooler from the bed of a truck at a Lufkin motel.
It happened around 11:30 pm on May 3, 2013.
The motel's security cameras captured the thieves and their vehicle, but investigators need the public's held to identify them.
The videos show the three people arriving at the motel in a white, single-cab, 4-wheel drive Chevrolet Silverado. The truck is a newer year model and has a black bed liner and tinted windows.
The driver parked the truck and one of the thieves walked through the parking lot, looking into the vehicles of the people staying at the motel.
When the person found a target, they moved the truck into position behind the victim's vehicle and cut the straps securing the victim's YETI brand cooler to the vehicle.
They then carried the cooler to their truck and drove away.
Authorities warn that as temperatures rise and the need for coolers increase, thieves have more opportunities to commit crimes such as this.
"Your help arresting these thieves and recovering the stolen property should send a clear message to others that we won't stand by while they steal from us and visitors to our community," said J.B. Smith of Lufkin Crimestoppers.
If you can identify the criminals responsible for this theft, or provide information concerning the location of the stolen property, call Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com.
