Around 7:30 am on January 26th, 2013, an unidentified man stole a purse from a customer int he parking lot of a Lufkin grovery story on the 300 block of South Chestnut St.

Surveillance cameras captured the incident on video.

The video shows that the purse snatcher waited outside  the store for the woman to leave, and then followed her to her vehicle.

After the victim put her groceries into the trunk of her car and began moving toward the driver's door, the robber ran past her, grabbing her purse from her arm.

The woman was not injured, but the man got away with her purse, mobile phone, and some cash.

The victim and another witness described the robber as a white man in black clothing with a balck beanie-style hat. He may have a tattoo on his neck and is believed to have arrived at the store on a bicycle.

The purse snatcher never went into the store, and the outside cameras did not capture his face, so investigators need the public's help to solve the case.
