Lufkin — Lufkin Police have released more details in the Wednesday evening shooting of a Lufkin man on Dale Street.

Ataymian Skinner, 27, a former Lufkin Panther football standout, was driving his white Caprice Classic on Dale Street when he was flagged down by a man at the Lufkin Land Park around 7 p.m., according to a police report. The man then came to Skinner’s driver’s side door to confront him, and a struggle took place over his car keys, the report stated.
