Board will hear public comments then take action on proposed increase

The Lufkin Daily News is reporting; Lufkin school's Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting tonight to hear public comments and take action on a proposed tax increase.

Earlier this month the school board passed a motion to leave the Maintenance and Operations tax rate at 1.04 cents per $100 of assessed property valuation, while increasing the Debt Service tax rate by half a cent from .165 to .17.
