A Lufkin woman found herself in cuffs after reportedly trying to lie her way out of a hit-and-run accident on Timberland Drive.

When an officer pulled 50-year-old Melody Hall over on suspicion of being the hit-and-run driver, she reportedly told them she did not know she hit the other vehicle, according to a police report. Damage to the front of her car told a different story. A passenger in her car told the officer they were in an accident but that Hall said she wasn’t going to stop because it wasn’t her fault, the report stated.
