An East Texan is going from All Saints to the Ivy League, from Tyler to New Hampshire.

Maddie Smith signed a softball scholarship with Dartmouth College.

She's been the Newcomer of the Year, the Player of the Year, and an All-Stater.

Now she will play in state that borders Canada.

"It's definitely a change, a polar opposite that what I'm used to," Smith told KETK. "I'm nervous about being in the cold all the time because I was cold this week when it snowed."

"But I think it will be fun," Smith added.

Yes it'll be cold there. Dress in layers & wear a windbreaker. People will help you out. It's a different type of cold- more dry air than here. It's a beautiful area. Get out and cross country ski, snowshoe, or downhill ski. Snowmobiling is fun too. Hike the mountains & enjoy the fall foliage. Don't forget to get to the ocean while it's warm. You might not want to come back here for the hot summers once you experience the mild, warm weather.
These are the best years of your life - enjoy!
