West Nile is carried by Culex mosquitoes, which tend to bite at night
Houston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; a 60-year-old man from The Woodlands has become the first person to contract the West Nile virus this year in Montgomery County, although the mosquitoes started testing positive for the virus in the county's south end a few weeks earlier.
This case was confirmed late Tuesday and brings the total number of cases reported statewide this year to six, Montgomery County officials said.
